The long awaited Kibra by-election finally kicked off at 6.00am Thursday Morning where the polling stations are destined to be open until 5pm in the evening, the exercise that has attracted almost 24 aspirants with a total number of 183 polling stations.
However the Independent and boundary Commission has said that the KIEMS kits used for biometrical identification of voters are in good condition and working optimally. IEBC has further urged voters, candidates and agents to maintain order at the polling station and to avoid engaging in election multi-practices.
Among those who have already casted their votes include ODM party leader Raila Odinga, Monica Okoth who is the widow to the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth, ODM candidate Imran Okoth among others.
A good number of police have been deployed following allegations of voter bribery allegations.
