Shock as Man Returns Home Two Days After ‘His’ Burial

A man who is said to have been buried two days ago in Kinangop has appeared back home. Paul Gicheche of Mutonyora village in Magumu went back home only to find news of his demise and burial in the mouths of all the relatives and friends. Gicheche who has been working as a casual laborer in Longonot appeared on Thursday, after going missing for around two months.

The family’s efforts to trace his whereabouts went futile. This was followed by the shocking news of the realization of two bodies which had been dumped at Ngumbi forest along the Limuru-Mai mahiu road. After enquiries the family realized that the bodies had been transferred to Naivasha hospital Mortuary.

The family went and identified one body as the one belonging to Gicheche and funeral arrangements began. The burial was held on Tuesday, a day after the post mortem was conducted on 5th November.

To the shock of many, Gicheche turned up on Thursday, two days after ‘his’ burial only to find a grave with wreaths freshly placed. He said that he had been working at the nearby Longonot Center and had not known that he had been declared dead. He said that he suspected that something was amiss when he realized that his close friends did not want to come close to him and people at the village stared at him with shock on their faces.
